Hi - what bits do you need to fit an external oil cooler to a CT air cooled engine?

I guess you need some way to connect the oil cooler into the existing oil system, do you do this via the oil filter fitting? Is there a kit you can buy for this?

Cheers - Chris.

(apologies if this should be in the the Technical questions, but thought alternative engine fitters might have more ideas about external oil coolers).

Why?
The oil cooler is prob the one bit that actually works well on a CT... if all tinware etc are in place and oil cooler is clean of debris...

You can use a "sandwich plate" between the filter and case.. then need to find a good place for the oil cooler.. oil pump needs to be in good condition to start pumping long distances...

Thanks for that - any ideas where I can get a "sandwich Plate" from?

I am building a 1776cc engine and want a bit bit of extra cooling for good measure.

Cheers - Christian
