Rear parking sensor

Has anyone fitted rear parking sensors? I've seen these on the maplin website

Are these any good? Is there any others you'd reccommend? Also do these systems work all the time or only when the van's put in reverse?

Hi,Fitted a few sets,not the exact ones you mention but all fit in much the same way.they only give an audible signal when your in reverse.Dead easy to wire up,just pick up power feed going to your reverse light/switch and a good earth.Biggest part is finding a suitable area on the bumper because they need to sit on a flat surface,any discretion in angle and they can pick up the ground.Also make sure if you have a towbar fitted that you have the room behind the bumper for them to push in flush,common sense i suppose.But that,s it,drill,12v test light and basic diy.

I fitted a reversing alarm, without too many problems, ignoring the instructions NOT to extend the wiring, so the control unit is on my dash.
I've not fitted this model, but some units state "not suitable for rear engined vehicles" I think the high tension circuits can cause interference.

why not use your lookybackers and your eyes .no need for a bleeping machine just learn to park properly

iv got a set if you wont to buy them was going to put them on mine but not go round to it if you would like picture i take one of them

Cheers Chris. Yeah if you can get a picture of it, how much are you looking for?
Flibbertigibbet it should be as easy as that but it's not, managed to reverse it into a picket fence last week and the price of these units are a lot cheaper than fixing or replacing the rear bumper. But point taken
