a rather odd request, but if its possible, it would save me a lot of time.
You know the formica/sheet lamiate materials you commonly see on kicthen units...
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy this from please?
I just need the sheet laminate, not actually stuck to a board..
Thanks in advance.

Ice,
I bought some worktop sticky back plastic off e-bay! Its really quite heavy duty (ok, would still cut with sharp knives etc) but I have a chopping board for that.
Looks really smart and very easy to apply.

Not sure what the quality would be like but i've seen what i think you are referring to for sale in Homebase. Sold in rolls of various lengths and widths.

i can tell you where to get it in norfolk. edens in snetterton. next to the race track. i am sure if you look in the yellow pages for anybody who sells ply board they will help you. the other alternative we have found is a two part varnish / resin that will give you the durability if a laminate but you can paint it on. we have used it on campervan furniture and can confirm it is very durable, easy to use and not to expensive. i have all the details in the workshop and can send them to you if you want. best call me as i do not use this site regulary. 01953601851

Be wary of the cheap stuff as its thin, will scratch, dent and is not worth doing. Contact any joinery firm for decent stuff. they may not have it but they will be able to get it for you in any colour you fancy.

If its any help - i work in a plumbers merchants selling kitchens - and we sell Duropal and Axiom worktops - they also supply sheet laminate in all the different colours - over 100 in total.
If you contact your local plumbers merchant or kitchen showroom they should be able to show you the colours available and prices - its not that cheap but really good quality - check out Duropal or Axioms websites - sheet laminate is not normally a stock item and takes about 10 days to arruve.
Hope this helps
