Trouble removing ignition barrel

Does anyone know how to remove the ignition barrel lock from a 1981 van?

The new ignition barrel has a kind of pop up spring that obviously holds it in place once inserted. But there's no hole or screw on the outside of the assembly to release the old ignition barrel.

I've resorted to drilling holes in the attempt to find the spring but no luck yet.

Any ideas?

Arh.....thats the pic I was talking about in a previous thread about this subject.
Stefvan...don't worry, there is a great deal of stripping down before you can get anywhere near with a drill and this info has been public knowledge for years.
Besides if someone where to attempt to steal a T25 they wouldn't bother extracting the lock mechansim properly...they would just bang a screw driver down the barrel and smash the steering lock... 30 seconds not 40minutes.
