looks like a devon moonraker roof to me! not seen may on them!

That is not a devon moonraker according to my little booklet I have

well thats what it says in his signature!


i've only ever seen danbury rooves with out a fixed side! ie four strust adn four sides of canvas!

Roof is most certainly Devon, it has the id plate in the roof, number 19!
Where are the other 18?

my old moonraker had side lifting roof not bothered what the plate says, they can be changed but I really dont think devon made that one,IMHO

It aint a Devon Moonraker roof that was fitted as standard.

My 1980 has a standard side hinged/lifting roof.

Could it not be a modification? It certainly looks like a standard roof shell, cut off at the front and remoulded blank ends fitted.

Hey fantastic. I've been meaning to ask about these.

I've also got one on a 1986 Devon Moonraker. Will have to check ID number. We were also at Vanfest and were in the Devon line-up at Camperjam.

Some friends of ours have an older Moonraker with the side hinged roof.

Anyway we love this roof - it's got great space up top and isn't too high when opened up.

How does the bed arrangement work on yours?

We've got two sliding sections that can either pull together into a 6' bed with an access gap at the rear or can go to either end as two 4'x3' childrens beds with centre access. Looks like there should be a third configuration with front access gap as there are some more notches for the locking blocks towards the front, though this means refixing the locking blocks to the other end of the bed board and results in a very narrow access gap (hopefully you'll understand what I mean!).

Have always wondered how Devon intended the configurations to be used and whether sliping off the blanket box on top of your wife and baby was the accepted way of getting into the top bunk after a night on the ale.

Great to hear from another owner, your layout seems to be the same as mine, my kid's aged 8 and 13 climb up off the rear hinged worktop lid, or off the back of the rock n roll bed.
The interior moulding does seen to be the same as the side hinge version though.

Do you have the under floor riviera gas heater in yours?

How are your gas struts that support the roof holding up, i'm on my second set, though I have found a company that will match my dimensions and gas them to the roofs weight, 40kg if you ever need to know, price to be confirmed.

Ps, the id plate is at the rear of the roof(when erected) on the base.

I have an underfloor gas heater in my van, but I think it is of Dutch origins. Have you got a picture of your Riviera model?
