Hi peeps!

Im very new to this but thought i would drop myself right in the deep end! Im after putting in a VR6 lump!

iv been told its been done but its not easy! haha i don't mind gona be awesome. Does anyone recommend a gearbox to use? and the adapter plate?

Also someone mentioned a Audi 2.7 v6, is that worth looking at?

any knowledge will be great peeps!

Cheers

Jinx

PS Im after a rolling T3 shell. Im not worried abt engine or interior, just as long as it pretty solid and in good shape (Gona be racing so needs to be).

The VR6 has poor output per litre - why bother when you could get much better results from an Audi 5cylinder, which will sound better and use less electronics?

so a 5 cylinder then? should I not even bother with the audi v6?

Just ask lots of questions before you read the FAQ.

I've driven a VR6 and I must stress how nice it was to drive, it's almost like it should have been there, plenty of bottom end grunt and will happily sing away at motorway speeds.
If I liked petrols I would consider it myself.
Not silly fast like the Cosworth V6, but just nice, just enough, super smooth and excellent power delivery.
Recommended.

What about the 1.8 T , easy tunable to 400bhp { @ a price :wink: }
had one in a Skoda vRS , remapped to 220 bhp...great fun.
Depending on what motor you get it from it'll have a min of 150 bhp, upto 225 if you get one from an S3 or Cupra.
300 horses from just a bigger turbo and a decent remap.
