Hi All,

Bought fuel filter from Halfrauds, it is slightly smaller than the one that is in already. Will this make any difference?

Also temp gauge aint working, have read threads on testing by shorting sender unit however Haynes isn't exactly clear on where this unit is. Can someone point me in right direction please.

thanks angeloevs.

Haynes shows it as part of housing but it is exploded and doesn't show location on housing. Am i looking for a wire leaving housing, if i am there not one that i can see. So look for loose dangling wire somewhere in that region? and a spade connector on housing without spade attached?

Pair of wires, possibly a connector rather than individual spades, colour codes should be the same as mine yellow/red and Brown.

Can't remember what engine you've got jpee, but just in case it's an early dg here's a pic of the wire to the sender (yellow and red wire just to the left of centre of the photo). Spade connector on the end (courtesy of Mr. Hulley in our case! :D ) and pushes onto what looks like a bit like a brass screw head, which is the end of the sender, which sticks out from the thermostat housing.

Thanks Nicola Tony

Nice pic, know where and what i'm looking for now. I hate to be the bringer of bad news though, i think someone has stolen 4 of your HT leads.

On the late styleee 1.9 and 2.1 the temperature guage sender is the inaccesible one (of course ! :? ) on the reverse of the thermostat housing when viewed from the engine bay.
