Dear all,

just got mu new westy joker, having had previous probs with wterleaking rof canvas , do youknow if the origial pop top canvas is waterproof or does THE enclosed way it operates me it does not ge wet? I was wondering if there is any milegage in using fabsil or some other spray that will allow the material to breather whilst making it waterproof.
Whilst i am hre, has anyone fitted a replacemnt LPG camping tank in place of the orgibal LPG tank? Many thans from aprevioust2 dormobile owner who is new to the wonders of t25 motoring.

Usually the problem is not with the canvas but where it screws down on the rubber seals.
When it rains hard the water runs down the canvas and starts seeping in at these rubbers, filling your van up with water and usually right above the light fixings.
I ended up buying a thermal wrap from Mr Baxter and have never looked back since. they cover the whole of the canvas and more, also they are invaluable during hot summer mornings.

As for the underslung tank yes.
Make sure it comes with a regulator that is rated the same as your fridge and ideally get one with a bbq takeoff. If your lucky your van may have had an underslung tank. Lots have been removed before they are sold and if really lucky most if not all the original pipework will be in situ, if not you can use copper pipe. I personally would not use flexible hosing although I know some that have.

thanks rob, yes original pie still there from orig tank but gassure said their kit needed bit of flexi hose to connect- thought this odd. cheers Tim

Gasure is a reputable company who know their way round the T25 gas system, if that`s what they recommend I`d take their word for it
