Cheers.
First, have a read here, it explains why the cap is important, I tried to make it as easy to understand as a mechanic from Yorkshire can do..

Second.
There are loads of different brands of these caps, like about 20 (I have checked) some are good, some aren't.
The ones you want are blue, and if you flip them upside down you want to see ONE raised section in the middle with lots of radial vents.
The blue caps with the 2 exposed valves on are for want of a better word... sh!te.
I sell the VW ones as I know I can trust them, I know I can sell them with confidence that they aren't going to go wrong and with them being such a critical part of the cooling system it is false economy to fit rubbish.
Thing is, and I've said it before, the thing that sets me (Brickwerks) apart from all the other people is that I also fix these things on a daily basis, I generally work alone so I cannot afford the time to be doing warranty work replacing faulty parts I have fitted.
You may look around at my website and think "Cor, that's expensive" but it's what you are comparing it to that counts, yes it may be expensive but it will be right.
I am generally quite open about where I source parts from, I can tell you that the caps I sell come from my local VW parts centre and I make about a quid on them! but, you lot need them, I have them and they are for sale at the same price VW sell them for.
Yes, they are probably the most expensive caps on the market and I'm not saying that I havn't had problems with those either but the percentage fail rate on gen VW ones is nothing compared to the cheaper brands.
