I'm after hacking into the courtesy light circuit so I can run a set of LEDS under seats etc that come on when the door is open. Wheres the easiest place to do this?

Two options here really:

Option 1
Run a two-core wire up to an interior light and hook on to both sides of the light. This way, you pick up the permanent +'ve and the switched -'ve at the same point and have one wire to run. (I've done this for lighting along the top of the doors)

Option 2
Pick up a permanent +'ve from wherever's easiest for you, then pick up a switched -'ve from any of the door switches. Since when one of them opens, the whole -'ve side of the lighting goes to ground, your new shiny LED's will ground at the same time

Hope that helps

Tops - thanks Richard. I might go one step further and have an overide switch in the rear that allows me to switch them on even if the door is shut although thinking about it, one of the rear interior lights would do the same job I guess
