Exciting topic I know but... Whats the best way to prevent any rust both underneath and in the wheel arches, I have the tank out at the mo so want to treat here to prevent rust etc,
Is it waxoyl then underseal, ( I already have underseal) Is the underseal ok for wheel arches etc? Is stone chip just a harder wearing ccoat?

And very well sealed it is too.

Hi Chrissy
I'm about to start the same job....yuck! The best stuff in my opinion is the Waxoyl/Black Hammerite mixture that you can get. Get the most of the muck off and then spray/brush it on and spray inside the chassis members and bearers etc. Remember to make sure the mixture is warm though or else it won't spray and just clog up the sprayer!
Underseal won't go on top of the waxoyl. You don't need it though, this stuff gives you adequate protection, even in the wheel arches. It's best to let it dry before you go out in the rain though.

did mine a while back with some paint on underseal.
best advice I can give is to wear a hat and old clothes/paper overall, not shorts and a t shirt

haha!
I've done a little of the underside, ith the waxoyl/hammerite mix and yes i got it everywhere! arms legs face the lot.
it says on the bacl of the waxoyl tin for best results follow with the underseal?
I takeit you mean spray the waxoly etc in the chassis rails? not the underseal?

Thats what I used, does take a bit of effort to apply but seems to do the trick.

Hi Chrissy
Yes....I spray the waxoyl inside the chassis members using the trigger operated spray that Waxoyl sell. Yes...it does get everywhere, I do wonder sometimes what the neighbours think I'm doing prancing around the drive in a shower cap!
