Plugs, single v triple electrode

Hi
having read on here the recent discussions on plug gaps etc....
A couple of services ago I put in the triple electrode (NGK) plugs.
Have felt van has been 'wooly' and lacked and 'ooomph'. Didnt think it could be plugs (only done couple of thousand miles) untile I read on here a debate re single v triple electrodes.
Who needs plugs that are designed for modern engines with 20k plus service interval when you do 5k per year max!
So....
yesterday I put the good old Bosch single electrode standard plugs in.
Zooooooom! Weird - it feels like its made a real difference!
Oh, and one comment was made re coils with green/grey stickers....
one for electronic and one for points ignition???? (local VW mechanics sugesstion, not mine!)
Either way, Im now sticking to the single electrode jobbies!
