Paint colour matching

Hi Folks
A previous owner of my van opted for a cheap, non-vw colour white respray.
Has anyone ever used Halfords paint colour matching service or similar (where they actually scan the surface of your van?)
I can only stretch to a few rattle cans for the seams I'm tidying up but would like the colour to be vaguely close.
Ta for your help.

i've had a can mixedup for my van from halfords, aim to put the top coat on 2moro, so will let you know what the match is like!
The ones i've seen have been pretty good!

You wont get anywhere near a match, where ever you go because you have 20+ years fading.

I've had a match done by them on a near new astra! considering its supposedly easier to mix a match for newer paint than older paint you would have thought they could do it, and considering they have a bloody computer to do it for them, how could they get it wrong?
Well they did, the bloody match was way out..so I'd recommend you go to your local paint supplier via yell.com or similar as halfords generally don't do anything right, unless they supply you the tools and you do it yourself.
Rant over.
Oh yeah, I rang them up the other week to ask if they had any penetrating fluid and was told they didn't ..to my surprise when I was in there a couple of days ago, guess what I saw on the shelf ...f**kin penetrating fluid, idiots.
Ok, seriously now my rant is over.
