Hiya,
My front calipers bleed screws have seized and one caliper isnt great in condition so i've decided to get new ones. Should I also replace brake discs and pads as a matter of course or can i get away with just the calipers for now?

My wheels are a bit rusty and i'm considering new ones eventually. Looking at new steels with the dome stainless centres. Where is reasonable to buy em from?

have the discs checked for there wear limit at a garage


refurbish the steels.

get them shotblasted and resprayed, not sure if anyone sells originals

Just kampers have some 14" steels coming in at the end of the month £50 each. Any idea how much shot blasting and coating would be a wheel? Just wondering whether it'd be easier/cheaper to buy new.

I did mine at a a cost of £25 a wheel (blast and spray, tyre removal and fitting) and in a colour of my choice.

a local sandblaster and commercial sprayer did it.
I chose two pack paint as it was glossy and easy to T-cut scratches out

and that was for alloys.

Generally a garage wouldn't just replace the calipers but as far as I'm concerned if the disc's and pads have plenty of wear left then there is absolutely no reason why you can't re-use them with the new callipers fitted.
I should think that there are plenty of steel wheels out there for free! if you ask. I've got 4 you can have if you can get to Nottingham but they will need painting.
