no pimping exterior yet, but I just got my interior finished and thought I'd share.

Before:
Nasty, cheap and no cupboards. At all. Shagpile carpet, and look at those curtains :(

So i stripped:

[img]http:319:425]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1043/528 ... 512eec.jpg[/img]
and soundproofed:

[img:425:319]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1229/528 ... fd03d3.jpg[/img]
insulated:

[img:500:375]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1132/528 ... fc1882.jpg[/img]

rock n rolled:

[img:500:375]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1140/528 ... 2af165.jpg[/img]

and put some panels in and flooring too:

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3001/262 ... e7d945.jpg[/img]

this was taking aaaages, so bought another van, (seen behind!)
[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3030/234 ... df84b7.jpg[/img]

Got cupboards made:

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3123/254 ... 070b16.jpg[/img]

[img:375:500]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3048/254 ... 7e0f34.jpg[/img]

and sprayed them up myself:

[img:375:500]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3023/262 ... 281521.jpg[/img]

the missus did some bloody amazing upholstery on the bed, and we made curtains with magnets in the sides and bottoms so they just snap on really easily, and just (2 days) before we went to France we finally got it finished:

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3144/264 ... e58f1b.jpg[/img]

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3175/262 ... c97b64.jpg[/img]

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3106/264 ... 1d80c7.jpg[/img]

[img:500:375]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3016/264 ... feb94a.jpg[/img]

Now just gotta get the headlining redone, sort the rusty bits out, lower her 40mm, get some alloys, tint the windows and she'll be almost finished!

Thanks for looking....more pics here if anyone cares ;)

cool! dont forget to put soundroofing under the seats in that 12" box area - cuts out LOADSA noise/drumming.

Elvis - thanks, was gonna but there's foam in there atm and it's a chore to clean it off. A job for winter perhaps!

tomhaigh - they're self adhesive sound deadening mats, I got them from bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk (their website's not showing them though :( ) Brilliant addition, cuts out a lot of road noise and cause i put it on the doorpanelss also they go 'clunk' when they shut!

Great work

A couple of questions as my van is stripped at the moment.

How much sound deadening did you use and which pack size did you get?

Where did you get the floor covering?

Also where did you get the insulation from? As I'm going to replace the horrible loft insulation stuff leisuredrive stuffed behind the cupboards and tailgate trim panel

:D

I used 3 full packets of 500x500mm sheets. I need to get 2 more sheets, but they only sell packs of 10 :( though i might be able to use some in my new Golf when i buy it next week 8)

http://www.jaymart.co.uk/info.php?item_code=MANDALAY Cost iirc around £20 but postage was about £20 too cause it's heavy. Very hardwearing tho, have spilt petrol, engine oil, dropped cigs on it and allsorts and it's unmarked still!

Celotex expanded foam came from builders merchant (£17 for an 8ft x 4ft sheet- 1 was enough), silver foil stuff is loft insulation from B&Q, it was around £12 for the roll iirc. Remove the loft insulation stuff asap as it holds moisture against the metal!

PM me if you need any more info!

Plurker did you sound deaden the front footwells and walk through?

by plurker
yes i did, i soundproofed literally everything, every exposed piece of metal I could reach *except* the under seat storage box/battery areas - which i now understand are the noisiest areas :(

great I was wondering if you did the side panels what with condensation etc. You used the sticky matting on side panels too I take it?

Can you still not do the seat box? How would you go about it, from inside the van or underneath insulating around the suspension?
