Got the adaptor for filling the Westy LPG tank from Gasure.

Can anyone now run me through how to fill it, don't want to pull up on the forecourt of the filling station and not know how to do it.

There appears to be some valves and stuff on the tank so not sure whats what, know where the adaptor screws on.

Its a 1990 one by the way.

i filled mine for the first time saturday,
unscrew the dust cover cap from filler, screw on adaptor, connect fill hose by lineing up the slots push on twist connector on fill hose anticlockwise,
pull trigger and clip off you may hear hish,
i don't know if you tank has a gauge on it but, push fill button fill tank to 80% on gauge, mine stopped automatic but i have heard some don't so fill with care.
release trigger a slight escape of gas is normal, remove filler hose.
pay teenager at counter.

I fill up at a place that is not a petrol station if you tell them the gas is for domestic use (fridge cooker heating) you dont have to pay road fuel duty makes it a lot less expencive.

Check the Westfalia chart ( in the manual) and guage before filling, and work out how much gas you need, overfilling can be dangerous

Ade, you say check the chart first, never used a LPG pump before, do you have to hold in the button as you do with petrol pump? or is it an automtic thing?

AND - most important, anyone know where i can get filled up without a bayonet adaptor in sussex? I have an adaptor but it doesnt fit my filler for some reason...

Hi i fill mine at a place in Stourbridge in West Midlands. There are three non petrol station filling places round here (does not help you much down there) i have only used the one the last gas fill took it from 30% to 80% and that was a grand total of £1.75. As for the adapters i use the cup type (europe) to screw into the tank then an adapter to change that to the english type. The English type on there own are too short when screwed to the tank. I got mine off fleabay £9.00 . Simon.

there speaks one in the full knowledge of having a grill in his bus. Having watched you an Shepster at Deva BBQing bacon for breakfast it still makes me chuckle.

Jane has ideas of taking the old camping stove as this has a grill the only drawback is that its 'kin huge, then I'll need the awning up to cook in if its raining which is also 'kin huge when packed, I'll need a table to put it on - our is 'kin huge.

you will need to be getting one of these in order to be making toast or cheese on/in toast............. Don't even think about using the round one, just bin it and try this one...The reason Westfalia's don't have a grill is because they didn't make the German high safety testing standards and so they didn't put one in.........

So how did putting the steering wheel on the wrong side get thro the safety checks
