Headrests

Not sure if this is the right place to post....Mods please move if needed,thankyou.
Seats we have are thread bear....going to re cover them for the time being but i can't get the headrests off.....help would be appreicated before i completely loose my rag and start swearing more than i already am
Don't know the age/make/model of the seats....van details are in my signature.

They look the same as mine, only mine have a little black handle on the plastic base where the metal enters the seat itself.
Have a look at yours,,,,is there a gap in the plastic anywhere? If so, there is probably a clip in there somewhere which stops the headrests moving up and down or coming out. I have to release this clip with the handle, one on each side, then slide them out.
Dunno how you would do it it if the handle is broke.

No black handle or clip....the gap is enough to get a cocktail stick in and noting more...there is a knobbly bit that sticks out a tiny bit but its not enough to grab hold of.

there is deffo a clip holding them in.if you look carefully at the edge of the plastic bit that sits in the top of the seat there is a groove around it.in there is the clip.use a small flat headed screwdriver to pull it out...
