JX Turbo Oil feed leek

Hi All,
After a 400 mile round trip to Cornwall the van developed an oil leak. After much sucking of teeth I decided to gunk off the the underside to see where it was and it transpired to be the bottom of the metal turbo oil feed pipe (oil filter to turbo).

A company called Hyphose (Southampton, Portsmouth & Poole) made me a replacement while I waited for £15 + vat.

The removal and replacement of the hose took me all of 15mins :D , The removal and replacement of the underside engine shrouding took me half a bloody day :x

My question is, am I alone in bothering with this metal work or is it an essential part of the engine?

Have you got any photo's of said shrouding?? I had a similar problem with my oil feed pipe about a month ago and didn't have any problems removing or refitting the broken one as there was no shrouding in the way! What year is yours?

I have never refitted mine (under tray) for a NA diesel - but there isnt much to go wrong or get covered in road muck. Trouble with the JX is that the turbo and the oil feed pipe are down there - and dont really want those exposed to the elements.

Im going to refit mine - once you know where the bolts are its not really an issue. (10 minute job).
