Propex X1 - Not Firing, fan not working. FIXXXXXED!!!!

huum.....I'm a bit stumped.
I've got an old X1 Propex unit (so old that it doesnt actually say X1 on it, just 1600W, 12V). I've done a search, read up, and rang propex and it still wont go.
I've attached the (2wire, black & Red) Stat to a fully charged battery and attached a new bottle of gas directly to the propex unit.
I switch on the stat, red light on,
turn the dial to 11 (6 or 7 actually!), green light on flashing quickly
Clicking relay noise
A purge 'puff' now and again
NO FAN NOISE.
then it cuts out (about 5 seconds in).
I've taken the unit out completly so it's not a blocked duct or anything.
Propex said to take it apart and have a look at the fan - is it rusted or stuck etc. Has anyone had one of these apart? Any tips?
