oil delivery problems with 1.8 Mk2 gti golf in T25 van

Just purchased a pannel van with a 1.8gti motor. My pal has spent a lot of time working on it with the conversion and has given up due to oil being pushed through the cam cover breather.
I understand that there is a baffel to stop the oil from going out the breather but when you rev it over 3000rpm it jets this oil out back into the airbox.
if anyone has an answer to this fault please reply as this is stopping me from having fun on the road.

Are you sure that the breather is breathing?
Worn rings would cause crankcase pressure....

Well i can't be certain yet about the rings but what if the breather is not breathing. Would this cause enough pressure to build up in the case and then blow oil out the top of the rocker cover back into the airbox.
Should everything ie oil breathers, rocker cover and all the standard 1.8gti gubbins work when fitting it into a van.
I just came off the phone to my mate who i purchased the van off and he said if you rev it to 3 or 4000rpm then back off the throttle, about a pint of oil is pumped out of the breather pipe.
Compression on all cylinders are good and this engine was tested prior to install. The baffal is in place and the gaulze in the oil pipe has been cleaned properly.
Is there anything we have missed.
Should this run up properly with out any problems. It has the right sump and so on.
please can anyone help with answers?
Man this is driving me mad!

hi there, not to sound rude but have you checked the amount of oil in the engine. i have just got a t25 with aTDI engine in it and it was doing the same as the engine is tilted over the oil level changes and the dip stick is no longer ture, i found 12 liters of oil in my engine , changed the oil and filter put 4.5 lt in and problem solved, dont trust the dip stick drain the oil and add the correct amount yourself.

It sounds like you should review your 'mates' policy
The overfilling thing is an option - depends whether the dipper was changed for a T25 one or not.
It could well be that it is just the gauze in the rocker box that is bunged right up and is allowing this build up and then release of pressure.
Either degrease and thoroughly hose out the gauze, or just take a drill to it and get some holes to allow it to breathe again.
It's not green, this van, is it?

Like you said, test it yourself first and then be certain.
oh well we see what happens next week.
