How much to refurb a high top ?

I have seen a nice van but the high top is one of those colour coded Westfalia ones and the fibreglass is very chalky and sun damaged. Has anyone had a similar roof refurbished, I don't know what is involved but presumably either new gelcoat or a respray with epoxy ? Some idea of cost involved would be great.

what ever you do you would have to key it first ,proberly removing it ,how about fitting a poptop?or having a new one made using yours as a plug mold?just a thought...spraying wth epoxy wont work if yours is made of polyester resin they re-act
check my newly made roof

Thanks for the tip Lance I realise you are becoming a bit of a guru in this department.. is there another paint that would adhere well and not react ? Or would gelcoat be the best bet ?

You can paint anything with the right primer

Two pack is relatively cheap and would cost around £250 for the job, at a place by me... no need for laquers and looks great.

My roof is plastic (fibreglass) and was done at the same time as the van... just different primers

yeah kevs answers correct, but does roof need to come off?i thought 2pack was going to be banned at some point and some spray shops stopped using it,but if kev says it can be done do it ,(i might have been lied to at local sprayer)

Two pack hasn't been banned it's celly that has been banned for automotive use but not for other use so you can still get it from some paint suppliers.
