Saga of Type 25 heat exchangers hot air and fitting kit

Replacement 1900 Aircooled engine 1981 fitted into type 25. Since fitting the new engine there has been hot air coming out of vents.......
Replacement heat exchangers repro have been fitted and there is a problem with the way "round and square" fitments fit - they don't. This is what the garage said was causing the que gardens hot air effect and the fitting kit they have is "no good..."....
The garage is not local so I was wondering if anyone could let me know what I can do......besides torch the van.
