Hi, the high beam & low beams have stopped working on my 1985 T25. The sidelights still work. I have checked fuses and they are ok. Bulbs are still ok. I can't find any loose wires or bad earths. Any ideas anyone?? Thanks.

As a first gues, I'd check the lightswitch itself.
Connect a bulb in place of the headlight to check for power.
If no power, pull the switch out and check this.
Also check and clean the earth points behind the dashboard.
Mr VW didnt fit a relay in the lighting circuit, but some owners have added them to improve light output. Have a look under the dash or behind the headlight units.

budbombpipe,
Have you checked the 'crown earths' as I think both left and right main and dip are earthed there.

Near fusebox /relay plate left side of dash.

Thats a good 'un Mocki, bypasses the lighting switch and checks the rest of the circuit.
Have you heard about the flasher who was thinking of retiring?
He changed his mind ........... decided to stick it out for one more year.

Found the problem thanks. Took the cover off that goes around the steering column and a main connector had come undone. Works fine now. Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.
