Full Gasket set... Where can we purchase parts

Hi there,
I'm after a full Gasket set for a 1600cc petrol 1980, I'm finding this very hard am I being stupid? I can find one for 1700 1800 2000cc or deisels or from 1981+ or 79-, just typical hey no 1980 in 1600, if someone could offer even suggestions will be very greatful!! Cheers!

1.6 CT Aircooled?
IIRC.. most of the gaskets are the same/similar to the type 1 engines, with a few type4 stuff thrown in (as its cooling system is similar to the type 4)
Have you tried the usuall suspects such as GSF, Just Kampers, maybe CSP or VW heratige or perhaps dare I say volkspares?? VW???

Yes its Aircooled 1.6, we are after a complete head set, complete gasket set, main bearings, piston rings, Thankyou for all of your suggestions of websites ect.. all help is much appreciated..

They have been obsolete for a number of years. The type 1 gasket set covers a lot, but you'll need the push rod tube seals from a water boxer.
The oil cooler base seal is nla so you may have to use sealant on the old one.

Spent ages trying to get full set for one of these, no joy anywhere. went with what Laurie said above plus bought some gasket paper of e-bay to make oil cooler stand gasket.
