Accelerator Cable Conduit - needed?

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could help with this enquiry?
The accelerator on my T25 keeps sticking so I'm over-revving everywhere I go - not good. I've been told that the Accelerator Cable Conduit is missing, so the cable is sticking as a result.
Is this a part that is generally available to buy? Or does anyone think that this doesn't make a sense as a problem?
If the part is not available does anyone have one to buy?

Any help would be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
E.K.

coilspring,

That's what I thought, it's just a bit of piping really. But the bloke at my local VW garage aid that would not do, I need the proper conduit.
If others know better then please feel free to enlighten me.
Thanks.

Well..... to my knowledge (and have used it in the past), bicycle brake cable is pretty similar and available off the reel.

Accelerator Cable Conduit - needed?

The 'conduit' is the sleeve that makes it easy to install the accelerator cable from the pedal area to the rear end of the tank, you just feed the accelerator into the conduit from the pedal end, engine connection first and it pops out at the back of the fuel tank! The cable itself comes with a nylon sleeve, just like a bike brake cable, which gives you the smooth, non stickthrottle action. It is probably the fact that the steel wire throttle cable has started to unravel and stic=k in the nylon tube that is causing the grief. If you don't have the conduit you can use the old throttle cable to pull the new one through.

Thanks,
This is all sounds like good advice. So if I buy a new cable then there should be a nylon surround with it.
Cheers.

nah - sorry.

And when I last looked for the Aircooled conduit, I couldn't find any!

An accelerator cabel is just that in my experience....a cable. But check with your supplier.....they may be able to get one for you!
