Hello All,
I have read so much about fitting alloys to my T25 but I am still confused!
Basicaly I think I want to put these 17" on or these 18" on. In order to fit them I am aware that I need to drill out the bolt holes to 14mm and 10mm spacers/longer studs will be needed. having read ultimate wheel post i am unsure what will happen with the centre cap. I dont want to drill a great big hole all the way though and loose it. Also I think as my van is 1982 it has the largest size greese cap. Can this be swaped for a smaller one? And finaly which tires should I get with each wheels?

Cant you get them in the correct fitment would save a whole bag of pooh?

they are 5x112 but with smaller dia holes for bolts. its mainly the greese cap/speedo cable housing that i am worried about, last thing i want to do is drill all the way through and have a horrible black piece of plastic poking though my lovely shinny new rims

If you look on the wiki there is a centre cap for Merc alloys that you have to make.... it fits over the grease cap...
The ML's are a shallow dish wheel.

even if you have the longer cap you can... as the post says... shorten it by 13mm
and the most common one by 5mm

you have to measure the centre bore depth on the alloys... and see if you need to manufacture a cap, or they will cover the cap anyway.

there is no easy way to do this

I thought merc wheels have a centre bore bigger than a t25 so don't need machining out

yes some do ..mine does.. the later ones though I'm not sure

Yep Mercs(including Vitos) are 66.5mm

The sellers have said all of the wheels are 66.6 dia centre so that will be fine, with spacers on the back I cant see there being any issue getting over the rear hub, but on the front I am still unsure about how far I would need to space them out to get them over the grease cap/speedo and, if not then can I mod the cap to make it smaller?

you could also fit spacers to the front to push the grease cap back in a bit... should be rioom enough for the centre cap then..
