Securon Seat Belts

Morning to all - I stuck this post in Camper aswell - not sure where it would get most viewing......

Has anybody ever used the Securon adjustable mounting (any way up, down or angle) seat belt inertia reels and mounted the reel high on the D post to give 3 point inertia belts in the rear of a T25 Autosleeper.

Seems very simple - drill hole, use thickerer plate with captive from JK, mount reel, set angles on reel and use existing lap points for the rest.

Apart from the fact the reels will be on show - anybody got any comments?

The wardrobe side will have a nice neat slot in the door for the belt to emerge.

This seems simpler than mounting the reel down low, bringing the belt up to the guide high on the D post and then forward.

having just bought the Autosleeper - this site is a goldmine of info - thankyou.

Haven't used it exactly as you mentionn, but I have 3 such belts - 2 in the rear of the caravelle replacing lap belts, and one in the non-cupbaord side of the camper.

Yes, the reels do show. But, they are easy to mount, and work well.

I am happy with mine.

The Securon belts are really an excellent piece of kit imho.

Not used them in a T25, but I fitted a set some time ago in my better halfs MG Midget and they are very straightforward to install.

If you don't mind the reels being on display then go for it.

I have got one of these adjutable belts with a four poiunt system, so the reel would be low, a higher fixingpoint, the third point as normal, then the fourth is the plug on the other side. I am only using it as a three point system at the moment, though.

I've done exactly what you are going to do, was a doddle to fit and the securon units are excellent. Only difference is that I couldn't be arsed with cutting the cupboard so I removed it completely.
