Hi,

I have a copy of Elsa the VW computerised manual that VW agencies use.

You initially fill in the Vehicle Identification section. The VIN part of it does not function but the other sections which I will list below, allow you to home in on your model.

These sections are Make - VW or Utility
Model Year/Code
Sales Model
Engine
Gearbox
Final Drive

Does anyone know which Sales Model mine should be based upon my vehicle designation which is below.

I am aware of what the numbers/characters in the VIN number mean, but its not helpful.

My vehicle is a 1986 Transporter with 1600cc Water Cooled Diesel, manual transmission.

Any ideas

Regards

Dave

T25s are normally under ''VW Type 2 Transporter''. Then select year of manufacture.

Utility Vehicles.
Year, pick your year.
Type, 254 for RHD Kombi. 253 for LHD kombi etc
Engine Code, Choose your engine code
Gearbox, If you know it otherwise just pick one there not much on tranmissions
Final drive, leave blank.
Only the boxes with red stars need to be filled in.

ELSA is VW's ELectronicService manual.
There is not T3 information on it, so it's a fairly pointless excersize buying it.
Too old - init.
