P&O ferry to Bilbao - meal vouchers

I'm off to Spain for a month tomorrow! getting there by P&O ferry to Bilbao though and a little confused about arrangements for eating on the ferry. I was told by P&O that I need vouchers in order to use the restaurants etc, then they quoted £207 for breakfast and evening meal - that's return for 2 adults + 2 kids but still pretty steep!
my question - anybody else been on this ferry, do you know if it is worth/necessary getting the vouchers (they reckon you get 10% discount on meals) or better to just sort it out on ferry? I know others have said P&O is expensive, but I didn't really expect that!
thanks.

You can purchase with cash or card on the ferry, and it isn't that cheap. I'd be taking bread and contents to make your own sarnies.
Beware of the chav stag and hen parties which appear to have taken over the ship!

We did bilbao back to England and my advice is take your own food and drinks. Food was really expensive and not to our taste or the kids. Keep your cossies close at hand as ours had a small pool and hot tub on the top. Look out for dolphins and take something to stop travel sickness. I felt sickly for days but the kids were fine. You get more sensitive to sea sickness as you get older I believe. I must be getting old. Have a great time. We are driving to Spain in our car so will look out for you!!! Well we would if we knew what you looked like!!!
