You can get an addative to help them along if they are a bit sticky.
I think its made by Wynns, but it is available from Halfords.
I am usually a bit sceptical of the claims of some "bottle engineering" but I found this stuff worked. I had a rebuilt Cosworth engine and a couple of the tappets would not quieten down. As a last ditch attempt before taking it apart I added this stuff and ran it round. Ten minutes later, problem fixed and never returned. Well woth the fiver or so it cost.

Thanks Mike it's a bit worrying the "take it all apart" bit.

Yep I know what you're saying.
Its bad enough having to do the water pump after mine lasted about 15 mins of running. I have read about your fitment problems, I am finding that you can't get the cam coveres off, so therefore can't get to belt and sprokets to get waterpump off if you use a smallcar engine cradle.
I am totally kicking myself now for not doing it whilst then engine was on the stand but then where do you stop.
Anyway parcel force have just arrived with a new pump so time to stop typing and get fixing.
