I've checked the wiki and looked through a couple of manuals, but I can't find any instructions on taking out an existing leisure battery.

It sits in the well behind the LHD drivers seat. It seems to be fastened in somehow, but in order to get a better look, and to get it out, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to get the driver's seat out of the way, because of the width of the battery.

The question is - do I have to take the seat right off, or is it possible to loosen the black plate the seat slides on so that it wil slide forward too?

I have moved the seat as far forward as it will go, so that the black plate it sits on is very visible. This black plate is sitting on another, white plate but there is no obvious way of sliding it forward, and I'm wondering if I am missing something.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

E D I T: The pic of finger on side of seat is the release so you can slide it past stop and remove.

Thanks for that lloyd. A bit too late as we ended up taking the seat off the hard way

But the pictures are great and will certainly help us get it back on again.


I need to explore Brick-yard a bit more - there seems to be a lot of good advice on there if you can find it.

Lloyd - as a follow up to this. Using the catch as shown in the link we still couldn't get the seat off because of the steering wheel and column, no matter which way we swivelled the seat.

For future reference, is there another trick we're missing?

Being able to slide the seat well forward made it a lot easier for us to fasten the four bolts back down when we'd finished though.

If seat back isn't leaned all the way back, seat back will hit steering wheel before seat slides forward enough to come off of track.

Ahhhh. Never though of that.
