fix the temperature gauge last week :D and now its working but it is reading three quarters of the way across and the fan is not coming on, :?
if i put the heater on the gauge moves back to half way,,, i have bled the system and the retun pipe from the radiator is getting hot....

Checked the fan (its a two speed unit) as per Hayes Manual and its working fine.... Is there a way of checking the thermoswitch on the radiator to see if it is working...

The van seems to be running fine and most of the threads say it takes ages for the fan to work...

you can test it...
you'll need a
thermometer
simple light circuit

connect the thermo switch to the light circuit, place in some water , boil it

when the light comes on the switch is ok (make a note of the temp)

or just go and buy a new one for a few pence :D
