measuring wheel diametre

ok ,im confused, my cooper cobra tyres are 14" 225s, but my wheel diametre is 15" (weller steels). so,how do you measure wheel diametre?
straight across the wheel with a tape measure right ? or wrong?
any help,any body? pls

Diameter is all the way round. Help him out coz he's from Norfolk but type slowly

Yes sorry was thinking rolling radius. Type as fast as you like folks i forgot he's a manc (he has trouble reading either way)

Wheel diameter is measured from where the tyre bead sits inside the rim....thats why your wheel 'appears' to be wider.....
Took me a while to work that one out.......
