Obviously got to much time on my hands follwing a hernia op this week, read most of my comics now, i see that drop spindles are available for other dubs, what about the 3, is there enough room under front wings to get one low enough to benifit from them, also is it possible to put an aaz, gti, or any other in line 4 engine in a pick up upright, rather than lay engine over as in the vans, like i say, to much time to think

Drop spindles are for torsion beam suspension vehicles....like tin worm infested Beetles,Bays and Splits etc.

T25's are lowered with shorter springs seeing has they have a modern suspension set up...simple really.

(1) if you went soo low you needed dropped spindles you would be looking at spending mega money to get a set custom made/tested/engineered as to the best of my knowledge no-one makes them , you would be *maybe* looking at getting front arches/floor 'tubbed' , reposition seat boxes/front interior , custom made/mounted rack/tie rods etc etc.

(2) if fitting an upright engines in pickup/crewie i believe there would be clearnace issues with sump ( standard VW upright one is so much deeper) and also looking at custom fabbed engine mounts and then stuff like exhaust/coolant pipes etc etc. ones i have seen have been ford/volvo so it was done from scratch anyway.
suppose you could remount the box and move all the rear suspension and tub rear aswell ?!?!?!?!?

steve, take it your not a fan of the earlier stuff then!, was thinking along the lines of drop spindles, which i take are not available, and not such extreme short springs, to give a good balance of low ride height and still retain some suspension travel, thanks elvis for your comments as well, being new to 25 /3s i am looking to learn whilst i am out of the garage, andy
