Warning light conundrum

I have an lpg system on my van. To start I've been told to turn the ignition switch to its first position at which point the red light in the middle of the temp guage starts flashing. When this stops flashing, after about ten seconds, I turn the ignition switch the rest of the way and the engine fires up.

The problem now is that this warning light has started coming on at apparently random times and flashing. This has been happening more frequently and I am not sure what is causing this.

I tried disconnecting the water level sensor to see if this was the cause, but that made no difference, so now I am a bit stumped.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Donald.

The red LED flashes for about 10 seconds after ignition turn on as a self test.
The LED has no bearing on your LPG system.
The LED should also flash if your coolant level is low. Sensor disconected.
It is a common problem that the LED will flash intermittantly, if the earth connection for the dash is poor, or the +ve supply is interupted for a fraction of a second.
Best advice is to clean up the contacts behind the dash.
Try thumping the dash to test for loose connections.
