Not had my 1.9 petrol 1984 autosleeper very long, but looks like she's a bit thirsty, i reckon i`m only gettin about 20 to the gallon at the moment, i know she's heavy and gettin on a bit but she's a bit stuttery on acceleration and i think something aint right and i can get more out of her. Can anyone point me in the right direction, timing? mixture? what do we reckon.

try posting in the Technical Questions and Answers some well help u out i run on gas now so i would be any help

here is wiki section on mpg 20ish seems about right around town with around 23ish on mway.

yep it thirsty and prob will stay that way! adjust it make it run as smooth as you can still prob won't get 20mpg around town maybe 23/5 on a run at 50mph could lpg it but that seems to be rising through the roof at the moment as well, the duty is set to increase by 100% by April 09

your mot emissions test will tell you if the mix is ok and whether you have any airleaks

as for the stuttering or cutting out on acceleration, then gaps, caps and leads.

culprits include transfer jet diaphragm holed , transfer jet blocked.

choke pull down unit leaking air, brake vacuum hose leaking.

eh?

petrol is 119?

lpg 49 (by me)

it goes up at the same rate as petrol

and increase in duty.... can you substantiate this claim?

With regard to the future of the pump price of LPG, this is HM Governments agreement. The duty on LPG will increase by one penny (1p) per litre a year, until 2008 where the situation will be reviewed. It is expected at that point that the current situtation will continue.

The average duty on LPG is currently 4.5 pence per litre while the duty on a litre of petrol is over 66 pence, therefore under the current ruling it would take 62 years for the price of LPG to overtake the price of petrol.

The 2008 bit seems like a Gov't opt out clause but cannot find any indication that the chancellor intends to hike the cost of lpg.......yet!

well if the duty rises 100% on LPG it will only be 9p per litre so hey! it will still be less than 1/2 the price of the fools gold.........

I have a 1.9 Auto Leisuredrive with high top.
Just checked and I have got approx 17-18mpg on my last fill up.
This was all around town with very short trips. I get around 23mpg on a run if i remember correctly. I certainly can't get anywhere near the 28-34mpg that I have heard of people getting on here. I don't drive it fast either.

i get about 17/18 mpg on lpg.from my 2.1 auto.but i must admit.i thrash it.like a red headed stepchild...

17 - 24 mpg. 17 mpg is short runs around town winter time. 24 is traveling at 55mph. Usually 18-19 town driving and 20-22 highway.
