My starter has been slipping and on removal the shaft is flapping about a bit!!!

The end of the shaft has a bush on it that looks as though it should be sitting in the end of the casting, but it is not. I have tried to knock this back up the shaft, but it wont budge. is there a way of repairing this or is it best to just bite the bullet and buy a new one?

If you have a spare 100 soves laying around then just buy a new one.

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,,

PS, sometimes a repair could be half the price of a new one, I'd be putting that amount towards a new one and have done with it..

Cheers,

I haven't got a spare sov, but its my daily, so I need it on the road, will be ordering one shortly,

Might then try and repair this one to keep as a spare.

Alan, plan sounds good till you find out they will want your old unit in exchange for a new one,,,,

Please don't call me 'Shortly'.

Shortly, :D

The one i'm buying is 'new', so doesn't have a surcharge and no exchange, so I'll be left with the old one
