its a common problem, perished breathers, its a easy enough job, as long as you have thin bendy arms, and uj jointed fingers

washer bottle normally lives right at the very front of the vehicle on the nearside (left) above the spare wheel.....

you'll be getting water in the tank every time the road is wet... Had any running problems?

Tey are a "feck" to do, I've just done mine and could not get my fingers in there....
Luckily after some advise from tomany toys (I think), I removed the tank and done it that way.........
If you do go the tank out method some advise I would give is.......
Order some of the rubber pads from VW they are only cheap and also when refitting the tank it must go up front first.
It took me ages to realise this and otherwise would have been a pretty quick job.

right its the bits of branch pipe that are perished. The small sections that go from the breather pipe to the tank inlet. They are like the braided cord type
Can these be purchased still or what is the alternative?? And where from??

drop the tank.
Use more flexy pipe than came off and i even got rid of the metal sections inbetween the flex on my early tank.
