yes you can.i think.you will need the 5 speed linkages as well.if the original was 4 speed.so is it easy.depends what you call easy... :)

Might not pull well when in 5th as this box has the highest final drive ratio and so is favoured by the alternative engine brigade who's engines can use the taller gearing.

What box have you got already? the 5 speeds are generally not much higher than a 4 speeds.. they are also considered weaker too.
I have a "DW" (IIRC which has a tall 5th) was ok on the velle as a 1.9 but you really had to be sitting at 70mph to make it work... a full on camper might make hard work of that...

Thanks for the replies, think I will stick to my four speed, sometimes less is more.
Cheers

4-speed generally tougher by all accounts... can change from 5sp to a 4sp without changing linkages, dunno going the other way!

my old camper has the AAP box, and it loves it, no point in top gear till 65mph, but reving only at 2700 at 75mph on standard wheels, the rest of the ratios seemed to be fine, but top was great...... and that was a high top camper fully laden all the time........

5th works well on my '83 1.9 'Velle, but I can imagine that a camper, particularly a high top, would struggle.
