aaarrgghh hes talking about one of those unatural vans with an engine in the front.make him go away....seriously though i would not bother buying it. unless its that cheap you could get another engine for it.and still have a bargain.is it petrol.thats pretty high milage...

You can look on JK to see how much a recon engine may be, but it may only need a new head, will be warped /cracked if let overheat.
These a buggers to cvhange cam belt on , and needs new pulleys.
You need to think how much it is worth vis a vis the repairs, are you a DIYer?, if not then big bucks at Mr VW.
I waiting for a T5 , better engines.

Guy at work is getting a T5 for 11grand, from VW dealer about 100K on the clock Diesel, they are comming down, (250 BHP anyone!)

I was in VW cordwallis the other day and to change a cambelt on one is about £350.00.
