hi, we just bought our very first t25 knowing it needed a few bits sorting out. we need to fix the roof, my hubby is thinking of using fibreglass to do this with. anyone got any advice?

Do you have any more details of whats wrong with the roof even a pic ???

I used this (Rigo Kit Syringe Epoxy Surfspatchel White)stuff to do a small repair on my roof. You can't even see where the repair was.Also excellent for surfboard repairs

Like James says depends on how big a repair you need to do

whole of roof is leaking and needs replacing, specifically the top capping sheet.

strangly enough hubby is a roofer but obviously not used to these roofs

charles and son in poole dorset have all the spares from the defunct autohomes company.
i had the same problem as you but cut the roof off and fitted a hi top instead.

charles and son just quoted me £2500 for a new roof!!!!! that's more than we paid for the camper! I think we will have to investigate our fibreglass idea further.

Replace ours with a shiny new high top from the very helpful www.timbertechnicians.co.uk

We found the old elevating roof was rotten to bits and definatley not worth repairing.

The fibre glass and resin etc have all been bought to do the repairs. Not being funny but i don't really want to convert it into a high top I like the amount of space there is when our roof is up. we will take photo's of the job and try and post the results if I can figure out how to do it. I'm pretty certain it will work

You could fabricate a new roof cap using exterior grade ply, then fibreglassing, would need to sort out the overhangs around the edge. The original roofs are heavy little bu**ers (I know I've recently removed ours and replaced with a high top I sourced off ebay).
I was thinking of re fabricating the old roof as I did like the design & height of it, however I'm now glad I went with the high top as the extra storage and convenience of the roof has proved invaluable (no more arriving late night and having to struggle with the roof to get the kiddies to bed.
I had seen one for sale on ebay, the guy had a new top cap build from aluminium over a ply sheet, looked fab and cost him around £200 but he never got back to me with the companies details. If you know someone or your man can work with ally maybe it's another option. Good luck with it anyways, if he can do a good job for a good price there are probably a few on here that might be interested.
