Many aftermarket tanks don't have a little mushroom looking filter fitted on the pick up pipe. This mean that flakes of paint from the original treatment can block the pipe by covering the open pipe.
I had hell with my Crew cab and came up with this idea.
Take one of the thin bits of metal in the side of a wiper blade make loads of gentle bends in it and stick it down the pipe until it slightly protrudes into the tank... No more trouble with paint flakes, old labels or other crap that the maker leaves in for a joke.
