In order to fit the gas struts, is a special tool needed to compress them so you can attach them?

If you know please respond now we're in the middle of (trying) to do it!!

Cheers

Rather than trying to attach them one at a time, I would suggest having 2 or 3 of you to fit them all at the same time.

2 to do the fitting and 1 to hold the roof up while you do it.

or if you are doing it on your own use a small ratchet strap as a compresser.

cheers, i will get a small wratchet strap tomorrow from work, all 4 came off a doddle, but only one would fit, the other 3 would require arms like the Atlas dude to compress and sadly i am not he

Just a thought, is a small wratchet strap the way forward or is there actually an official tool for doing this.
