Hi Guys,

If the gear box is any good on me new van - i might swap it over to the villa 3 (its a 5 speed).

I noticed the new van has got a raised bit below the gear stick:

Whats this about? Anyone got any ideas?

Also, If i were to swap gear boxes from a 5 speed to a 4 speed - will i have a problem?

Thanks dudes :)

the new van is obviously a Turbo donkey, the floor is different to a nastily asmatic to allow the bigger fan and make fitting a shortshift harder, the ox is no different, although the selector gate box is, and the linkage is, so you will need to swap these over

its a high miler or city van im guessing

Thanks Steve,

Do you reckon the linkage will be longer - or will i be able to straight swap them?

Cheers

should be a traight swap......
when i changed my old van from 4sp to 5 sp i didnt bother changing the linkage, its still on the 4sp one now, can see loads of difference tbh, the only real difference is the gate box, and you may well see that the stick is different gender is the there is much age difference between the vans anyway, early tended to be female at the stick end, later male, the fork and fitting are oposite way round...... well they are on petrol, im not sure about dervil

Cool...

The new van is late 89 - then villa 3 is early 89 - so hopefully not much differrence apart from this slanty thing....
