Getting rust treated on a custom paint job

Not been around these parts for a while due to life and such getting in the way. My van failed its MOT yesterday due to rust on the corner of the wheel arch. The garage is patching it up so it will pass later today but I need to address the corrosion around the rest of the van.

Problem is that there's a great seam of rust running through the paint job I won at a festival a couple of years back as well as around the petrol cap.

I want to find somewhere that can treat the rust with minimum disruption to the illustration. I then want to patch up whatever damage is done with decals printed from photos.

Does anybody have any ideas how best to get this done?

Cheers

D

Vactan

Should stabilise the rust for a year or so.

Is that right, wheel arch rust failed it? Must be elsewhere too surely, to fail it structurally, or is there sharp nasty metal protrusions?

Close-ups would show a lot more the problem than those portraits.. nice as they are :)

The rusty wheel arch was actually on the other side to that shown in the photos at the inside corner by the jack point? (sorry my anatomy might not be quite correct). The panel was peeling away so I've no major problem that the work needed doing just a shame I was out of MOT so had to get the job done in a rush by the inspecting garage as it wasn't the prettiest of fixes.

Illustrations were there to show the paintwork i'm trying to protect when I get the seam on that side treated
