Hi

Just joined this forum and not exactly sure I'm posting this in the right place so please forgive me if I've got it wrong.

I've decided to sell my "normal" car (Berlingo) and buy a campervan for holidays/weekends etc adn with a view to a career break next year and a tour of Europe.

I'm not particularly technical when it comes to vehicles so would really appreciate some advice on what to look for.

It'll be be and my toddler using the van mostly. I would like a Westy and probably a pop top rather than a high top. As this will be my only vehicle I need to consider how it would work for "domestic" use etc.

I'd like to consider wild camping so want as many mod cons as possible LOL.

Budget is pretty tight and I would say not more than £4k.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

You'll be needing to look at the WiKi at the top of the page, see whats what....... https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ma ... ive_Owners just remember that all of these are getting on for or over 20 years old, so will need TLC , but using them daily does them more good than standing.......

i have just joined & encouraged to see other newbies - tho you do sound like you have more mech. know-how & will be a gr8 t25 owner. if u can master a bike, i'm sure its just extrapolation, by & large!

despite being quite handy with drills & blowtorchs, I'm still somewhat daunted about more than v basic mechanics... best of luck & look 4ward to hearing of ur journey

Thanks so much for all the advice and offers of help.

Well, my daughter's dad and i were supposed to leave yesterday for a trip to Devon and Glastonbury but it's all gone pete tong.

He's been rushed into hospital and won't be out for a couple more days.

So, I went and got the van yesterday and had a baptism of fire driving it round the M25 and now we're heading off today.

Am somewhat petrified as I've no idea how everything works! We have no gas bottle so unless I buy one it'll be fish n chips all the way LOL.

If anyone's going to Glasto then please look out for us and come and say hello!!!

Have to say, drving the bus is mental!!! Lots of women drivers looked a bit po-faced when they realised the driver wasn't a cute surfie boy LOL!

Anyways, into the breach shortly so wish us luck.

Loving the site Ababyonboard, no time to have a proper look now but will do when we get back.
