When I switch the ignition on, the red light under the temperature gauge doesn't come on. I noticed that behind the rev clock there is a screw with a nut missing. I tried putting a nut on it but that stopped all the warning lights from working. Can anyone recommend a way of troubleshooting the warning light (low coolant/high temp) and whether just the temperature module can be replaced if available ?

Just a simple thought from a simple minded old f@rt, but could it perhaps be the LED (light emitting diode) which has packed up?

Normal check on the system I believe, is to earth the connection at the temperature sender by bridging the plug with a bit of wire, should give you a full scale deflection of the temp gauge and the light on, with ignition on.

I guess the light should also come on if the plug at the coolant level switch was bridged in the same way, but I am not sure if the switch contacts are normally closed as shown in the wiring diagram, in which case just removing the plug should bring on the light.

I am one of the 'If it aint broke..................' school and mine has been trouble free so far. Sods law will come into effect on mine shortly no doubt.
