Spare wheel and bicycle on the back?

I have an lpg conversion which uses a doughnut shaped tank under the front where the spare wheel used to go. The spare is currently mounted on the ladder fixed to the tailgate. I want to find a way of transporting a bicycle on the back as well as the spare wheel, but still allow access to the top box on the roof.
Has anyone found a neat solution to this problem? I was wondering if there is a rack available which can hold the bike above the spare wheel.
Thanks,
Donald.

I have a spare wheel carrier on the back so I had to remove my fiamma rack and have now got a maxxrax tow bar rack. the 4x4 one clears the spare wheel, is strong but you need a tow bar. Pictures on their web site.
Sometimes appear on flea bar.

I achieved this combination some years ago but I was building my own equipment. I had a wheel carrier which mounted to the tow hitch and folded down to give access to the dipstick and rear hatch. Bluebird do something similar (see
http://www.bluebird-type2.co.uk/Split%2 ... rparts.htm).
I then had a bike rack based on the Paulchen design (Are Paulchen racks still available? They are/were similar to the Fiamma but in smaller steel tubing (25mm conduit in the case of my copy) rather than large aluminium tubes.) On this, the vertical tubes were far enough apart to allow the top of the spare wheel to sit between them. I am not sure that Fiamma racks are either wide enough or high enough (that is, mount the bikes high enough) to achieve the same thing.
I have got to sort this out again for my current vehicle so will be looking into this myself when time allows.

The van is away at the garage getting new front discs and bearings fitted and also some brake pipes sorted before its mot. When i get it back i will take a couple of pics and have a go at posting them up for you. The van came with the box already fitted, so I have not had a close look at how it is fitted myself - I think its secure...
Cheers,
Donald

Hammy, here is a couple if pictures of the roofbox showing a bit more detail. Basically, it is clamped onto the roofrack at the back of the box using small brackets and the base of the box appears to be bolted through into the bottom of the hightop. Hope that makes sense.
