Dashboard tray

First of all, hello everyone, I'm new to the forums.

I've got a 1985 Reimo converted 1.9 which is in pretty good nick but there are two niggely problems that I'm struggling to sort out.

Firstly, the van came with an aftermarket dashboard tray/tidy with cupholders and bits for maps etc. The mounting points for this have become fatigued and it needs replacing but I can't for the life of me find somewhere that sells them. Does anybody know where I can source one from?

Secondly, and this might be one for the technical forum, the temperature gauge has packed up. The sender unit works at the engine end and the little red light flashes when I turn the key in the ignition but I think the circuit board is past it. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, can they point me in the right direction for sorting it?

Cheers all.

ref the temp gauge.

the red light takes its signal from the header tank sender for low coolant as well as high temp warning from the temp sender at the thermostat housing, so it may not be so that the dash is to blame.

A simple test is to connect the two pins of the temp sender connection plug together and see if the gauge moves up. This will check both the wires and the gauge. If nothing happens, repeat the process by connecting the two wires at the dash end to get the gauge moving up...

if the gauge works then, place a temp pair of wires from the gauge connections to the temp sender and confirm the wires are at fault, replace perminately if so.
