been toying with tyres for a while now as some of you already know.
think i`m going for general grabber at2`s. the kumho kl71`s nearly swung it, but really its overkill for what i`ll be using it for. also the price is good i think so buying 6 wont hurt as much as 6 bfg`s.
anyone used these before.
what d`ya all think.

Still on my original Nokian snow tyres, so havent tried anything else, at least with a 16" you have a decent range of tyres. BFG's are so much the obvious choice that it is nice to see something different.

i dont think the at2 will disapoint as an at tyre as they seem to be getting good reviews, its just that i cant get the aggressive mt look out of my head even though i know the van will only get used for the shows and familly camping with possibly only a little off roading.
can i live with a full on mt, on the road full time though. most in the know say no and thats why i`m edging for the grabber at2.

I live with BF mud full time a wouldnt trade them for anything.
Yes they are more expensive but you get whot you pay for.I have used them in all conditions from tarmack, mud, desert, fine river bead, shale, boulder to clay and find the MT a very good all round tyre with very good wear caracteristics.
I have also never had a flat with the GF's.
The road noise ist bad either and the road manners arevery good if you realise it is a van you are driving and not a race car.

thanks russel, tried ringing you this morning. what size would you recomend for my 16".

If its a 1.6td then stick with the 205 80 16's if its a 2.1 petrol or 1.9TD then ide fit 215 80 16's or 225 75 16's but these can give you slight interference on the front of the front wheel arch on suspension compresion. On the 225's you should also use a rime with a width of 6inch and wider and lift the suspension slightly..The standard 5.5 rims are not a recomended size for wider tyres (as recomended by tyre manurefacturer)

going for 225/75/16 does give me more tyre choice in a mt even the kumho`s come in that size, thought about 255/65/16 as these seem ok on the van with clearance and all but mt choices are slim hence edging toward the grabber at2 in that size.
decisions / decisions guess i`ll have to make my mind up this as the tyre stockest is getting board of lending me tyres

.
thanks again for the input. lee.

Have also lived with BF mud terrains on my Tristar for the last couple of years and would reiterate what Russel says; excellent performance on all surfaces when treated right, low wear, acceptable noise level.

bfg dont do a 205-16 all terrain and 225-75-16 are on mega back order were talking months apperently so that should make it easier,cj.
